When do I register?
Current Students
High School Course registration for 8th - 11th graders happens each year, typically in January or February and extends into March. Counselors will do their best to meet with every student to discuss their registered classes. Once completed, no changes will be made to schedules.
Students New to the District
After enrolling in the district, course registration will be done by the students' counselor and the Guidance Office Registrar directly.
Which courses should I sign up for?
Picking your courses for the upcoming year requires planning and thought. It is important to make sure you're meeting all your graduation requirements by the end of your senior year and also picking courses that are a good match for you along the way!
To help you do this, we've broken down the course selection and registration process into steps to make it a bit easier.
If at anytime during your registration process you have questions or concerns, talk to your Baker or High School Counselor. We are here to help you successfully navigate this process!
Can I change my schedule after submitting my requests?
Students' course selections are finalized after clicking "submit." The courses that are offered and teacher staffing next school year are largely based on the course requests students make, so schedule changes are not likely to be approved in the fall. However, schedule changes may be approved on a very limited basis for the following reasons:
A graduation requirement must be added
A student has passed the class in summer school or in another academic institution
Administrator requested withdrawal
Student has an incomplete schedule
To remove duplicate classes or fix obvious errors
IEP/504/ELL placement requirements
Student-initiated schedule change requests that do not meet these criteria will be denied after school starts in the fall. Remember, when you register for a full year course, you are committing to stay in it for the full year. Please choose wisely.
How can I see what classes are offered?
The Course of Study catalog contains most of the information you need to know about our class offerings and the scheduling process. If you have questions along the way, our counseling staff will be happy to assist you.
Step 1 - Get Ready: Make sure you have all of your scheduling materials before you begin

FHS encourages you to thoroughly read all of the scheduling resources, but the most valuable resource you have is the Course of Study. The most important and useful parts of the Course of Study are:
Graduation Requirements
Educational Planning Chart
Summary of Courses by Department
Course Descriptions and Fee Structure by Subject
TIP: The Summary of Courses by Department page contains a simplified chart of all of the available courses. Many students use these pages to see a quick overview of the courses that they are able to take based on their grade level. The Course Descriptions page has more detailed information about specific courses such as prerequisites, auditions/teacher recommendations that may be required, course fees, etc.
For current 8th graders, the 2024-2025 FHS Enrollment Plan & Course Request Worksheet - Grade 9 is a great tool to use to prepare for submitting your course requests online because it provides specific information about what courses are required and what courses can be chosen as electives. This document does NOT give information about what students need to have taken as a prerequisite, however. This form needs to be turned in to your Baker Middle School Access teacher no later than Friday, February 23rd (NOTE: Deadline extended until Monday, February 26th. 8th graders must complete BOTH parts of the process: 1.) online scheduling AND 2.) turn in the completed paper form. (Current 9th-11th graders only need to complete the online part.)
Use the 4-Year Educational Planning Chart of the Course of Study to start (or refine) your four-year academic plan. Once you have a plan, you can begin to check off the courses you need/want to schedule online and, if applicable, your Course Request Worksheet form based on that plan.
While all students should select courses with an end goal in mind (starting a career, preparing to enter the military, or meeting college entrance requirements), there are very different paths they can take to get there.
But figuring out a 4-year plan can be tough, especially if you are undecided about what your future holds right now. The good news is that the Course of Study has a section called "Pathway Options for Course Selections" that can help you develop a four-year plan. There are several Pathway examples, and any of them are strong enough to get you prepared for a specific goal, but still they still give you the flexibility to switch to another pathway later if you change your mind. Another Pathway that combines traditional classes with Advanced Placement and College Credit Plus classes is outlined in the Course of Study under the "Associates of Arts - Liberal Arts" page.
The Pathways shown in the Course of Study are only examples of typical 4-year plans. You have the ability to modify the Pathway to fit your own goals, provided you are still meeting all of the local and state graduation requirements, too. If you are still uncertain about your options, talk with your parents/guardians, teachers, mentors, and counselors about ways you might be able to put together your own unique four-year plan that meets your individual needs.
Step 3: Go!
When you have gone through Steps 1 & 2 of the scheduling process, you will be ready in Step 3 to start entering your course requests in the online Public Request system.
It will be helpful to have these items with you as you complete the process:
1.) Your personalized online scheduling account login information email
2.) The Course of Study/4-Year Plan with list of courses you'd like to take
3.) For current 8th-graders only: Your completed Course Request Worksheet
Use your personalized account information to login to the Public Request system and register for your preferred classes. (Your username and password will be sent to your school email address after Skyhawk Connections Night.) The parent/guardian who is listed as your primary contact in OneView will also get their own personalized login that is linked to your account. If you misplace your login information, the adult in your home can help you enter your requests using their account.
TIP: The Usernames and Passwords are case-sensitive. The last 4 characters of the username and the entire password only use the numbers 0-9 and the letters A-F (not the letter "O.")
The deadline to have your requests submitted online is 11:59PM on Friday, February 23, 2024 Monday, February 16, 2024 (deadline extended).
