Individualized opportunities to meet graduation requirements
Meet with incoming 9th grade students (including students with IEP’s and 504’s) yearly to discuss graduation requirements and overall high school vs. middle school expectations to prepare them for success.
Throughout the school year, students meet 3-4 times with guidance department and special education supervisor, if applicable, to do grade checks, review class placement and discuss credits toward graduation.
Field Trips are arranged to local colleges as well as career exploration with area manufacturing companies to allow students the opportunity to make career connections as they progress through their chosen academic path.
Academic interventions and support in Reading and Math have been put into place for all students who are “at risk” of not meeting competency on OST and EOC testing.
Staff meet yearly with students (including students with IEP’s and 504’s) that are identified at risk of not graduating and develop a plan of action to support success. This plan may include: Credit recovery in Summer school, frequent grade checks, after school tutoring, Credit recovery during 12th grade year.
