Tokyo Day 1

The phrase "what a day!" doesn't do today justice. Early morning breakfast at 7:00, lots of adventurous eaters of "natto" (proud sensei), and then a train to Meiji Jingu in Harajuku for a morning stroll through the grand shrine grounds. We were joined by a friend from sensei's teaching days on the island of Shikoku. She provided much entertainment and the Trippers used lots of Japanese with her throughout the morning as we headed to the famous street for youth culture, Takeshita-dori.

Students fall asleep at the dinner table and on the train ride home. Jet lagged? Or is it how much we walked today?
