This year, the ETHS Japanese department was accepted into a program classed "Global Classmates," where we were paired with a partner school in Ueda, Nagano prefecture. We took a day trip by shinkansen from Urasa to meet with the 30+ Ueda High School student whom ETHS third and four year students have been communicating with for the past half a year. The students and teachers at the school were amazing hosts, treating us to some ice breakers, small groups visiting sites in Ueda, a wonderful soba lunch, and farewell album creation.
