WESTERN UNDERGRADUATE EXCHANGE (WUE)

wueHandout_2021.pdf

The Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) is an agreement among 16 western member states and territories, through which 160+ participating public colleges and universities provide nonresident tuition savings for Western students as part of the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE).

Through WUE, eligible students can choose from hundreds of undergraduate programs outside their home state, and pay no more than 150 percent of that institution’s resident tuition rate.

Since full nonresident college-tuition rates may exceed 300 percent of resident rates, WUE increases affordable higher-education choices for students, and minimizes the adverse impacts of student loan debt.

Review the WUE For Students webpage to determine eligibility, participating schools and programs. Please note many participating WUE schools may be program specific, limited the number of acceptances per year, require a seperate application and have a different deadline. The application process may be different for each participating WUE school. Students are encouraged to review each school's website in detail and to apply early!
