Mirroring Displays

With access to multiple devices within a classroom, students and teachers can share their screens wirelessly from anywhere in the classroom with the following devices:

Apple TV

Ask your IT department for support in setting this up.

How can Apple TV be used in the classroom?

  • Display a student’s work to the whole class.
  • Share a student solving a problem on their iPad with the whole class; they can present the information easily by talking through their methods.
  • Show media (videos, photos) directly from your iPad.
  • Film things up close – the whole class can see it enlarged on the big screen (great for science demonstrations).
  • Take a photo of a teacher’s writing and share – students can suggest improvements.

Reflector Software & Air Server Software

  • These applications allow teachers and students to wirelessly display their device (iPad, tablet, Chromebook, laptop) to another device.

Google Cast for Education

Teacher and students need the chrome extension installed. Check out Google's support page for Google Cast that provides instructions.

Other Mirroring Devices

Hardware manufactures may have applications that can be installed on devices such as iOS, Android or Windows 10 OS. These are generally hardware specific but do allow the screen to be mirrored from the device to the screen. Many of the capabilities are built atop the Crestron control application that is native to the hardware. Up to 4 devices can display in a quadrant on the screen.
