Vocational Courses

Through working with a variety of external partners, Williamwood has developed an extensive vocational programme. The majority of vocational courses are open to our S5 and S6 pupils and we have a wide range of courses on offer. The application process is embedded into the options process for senior pupils and applications are completed in school and at home.

Transport for courses is normally arranged by the school, with most courses taking place twice a week (Tuesday and Thursday) and are timetabled into the young person’s school day. Some courses require additional attendance, or attendance outwith the twice a week model. Young people should be aware of this commitment prior to enrolling in a course as it may have an impact on their other subjects.

We are also lucky enough to be able to offer HNC and Foundation Apprenticeship courses through the Vocational programme. We have had great success with these courses in the past, with many young people going on to further education or employment based on their experiences in the vocational programme.
