Options Process

Williamwood High School is committed to ensuring that our young people make informed, aspirational and successful choices as they progress on their learning journey in line with the school’s ‘choosing for success’ policy.

In preparation for selecting their S3/S5/S6 subjects, pupils will undergo a rigorous options process to ensure all are choosing for success.

An initial options assembly with relevant Head of Year:

• Our options information presentation is shared with parents via email

• Individual recommendations are gathered from faculties by Principal Teacher Attainment and shared with Pastoral Team

• Detailed presentations on specific subject areas are delivered by teachers in faculties

• PSE lessons on 'choosing for success’ begin

• Careers interviews and SDS inputs in PSHE begin

• Mock options form (online) sent to parents for completion at home

• Options Day! Young people bring completed online form for discussion with PTPS and make final selection
