Greetings Silver Spring Families!
The summer is finally here and it is time to enjoy the beautiful weather!
Thank you again to you, our teachers, staff, and PTC for supporting our students and helping to keep them happy, healthy, safe, while learning and growning! Although we weren't sure what this school year would look like, we all did our best and we made it to the end of the school year together!
As you know, learning doesn't stop because the summer months are here. The summer months provide us with opportunities to continue to learn and grow through experiences, as well as reading. This newsletter will provide you with information to help our students' learning continue, so they will be ready for the return of school in September. This newsletter will also include information regarding the upcoming school year to help you plan.
If you have questions or concerns at any time, please do not hesitate to reach out. We are here to help! Please keep in mind that school is closed during the summer, but I will check my email from time to time.
Have a great summer and don't forget to read!
Mrs. Avila
We launched our new school website last month. The website is in addition to this newsletter, and our current website, which includes posting from our Facebook page and our school calendar. The hope is that you will find information that you are looking for in any and/or all of these sources.

Students are able to access i-Ready over the summer months!
We encourage our students to continue to learn and build upon their reading and math skills. As students have been doing during this school year, we are challenging our students to continue to pass two lessons a week.
Students who participate in this i-Ready challenge will be entered to win prizes upon return to school in September!
Keep up the great work!!

Our Silver Spring Family has been hard at work on chromebooks and earning Silver Spring Stars! We are proud of our students and staff.
After reflecting on the 2020-2021 school year we realize we also need to focus on self-care.
What is self- care?
Self care is taking care of yourself so you can do your best each day. When we are hungry, tired or sick, we are not at our best. We want to feel amazing when we wake up each day. We want to treat our friends and family well. We want to pick a hobby, subject or sport and master it. We will be successful when we take optimal care of ourselves. Check out these seven habits for Successful Silver Spring Stars!

Because of the great response to the Feinstein Jr. Scholar Golden Ticket promotion, Mr. Feinstein has decided to continue drawing winning numbers through summertime school vacation!
Winning numbers will continue to be announced every Monday on WPRI Channel 12 during their prime time 4:30pm news program and repeated the following day on our Facebook and Virtual Club right up until the end of August.
So, check your ticket each week to see if you and our school are winners! If you have a winning ticket, hold onto it until the start of school in the fall and present it to Mrs. Avila then. What an exciting moment that would be!
In Closing....
Thank you again for your kindness, patience, and partnership throughout the school year. Take care of yourself and stay safe this summer! We will see you in September!
