Taste of the Middle East
Taste of the Middle East (TOME) is a yearly event that brings together people from the educational, political and business community to celebrate the diversity here at Killarney School.
It is an opportunity to celebrate Middle Eastern culture and shares Middle Eastern food with students, staff, and guests. As known, Killarney school is the only Public Junior High School in Canada to offer both Arabic and Islamic Studies. We are proud of how this event encourages diversity and promotes multiculturalism and understanding in our school.
Taste of the Middle East is run by our leadership under the guidance of teachers and administration.
Community members also contribute a helping hand, organizing cultural dances, offering their time, and of course the wonderful food that is enjoyed by all!
Our students participate through set up and decoration, hosting the event, performing, or simply by enjoying a good meal and time spent with their classmates.
Every year we are delighted to welcome community and family members along with local dignitaries into
our building to join with us for this enriching occasion.
