Arabic Language Art - Arabic Bilingual
(Twelve-years)
Arabic Language Art (Arabic Bilingual) programming establishes an environment in which Arabic language is used constantly for purposes of communication, personal satisfaction, and learning.
Students have numerous opportunities to learn and use language in meaningful, purposeful ways to meet their needs, interests, and abilities. The Arabic language is used to explore ideas and experiences, to construct meaning, and to communicate understanding. Effective language acquisition occurs through the integrated delivery of subject-area content, language instruction, and cultural information, while fostering in students a positive attitude toward themselves and others.
Students will develop their skills through; read aloud, answer comprehension questions, write thematic paragraphs, spell words, develop skits to immerse themselves in cultural experiences, and do interactive projects to practice oral language (community resources).
Arabic Language and Culture (Six-years)
مادة اللغة والثقافة العربية
Arabic Language and Culture is a course sequence that provides opportunities for students to develop Arabic language proficiency as well as knowledge and appreciation of Arabic-speaking cultures. This course sequence provides opportunities for students to develop an awareness of and sensitivity to cultural and linguistic diversity, in addition to preserving cultural identity.
For those students who already have knowledge of Arabic or a family connection to the culture, this course sequence also offers the opportunity to renew contact with their language, culture and heritage and further develop literacy in their first language. Language is communication. It is also true for the students who come to the class with no knowledge of Arabic and who are learning it as a second or additional language.
