CAS Visual Art Standards

2.3. Examine the nature of diverse aesthetic experiences to build a language of representation that can be used to respond to the world.

2.1. Establish a practice of planning and experimentation to advance concepts and technical skills.

2.2. Ideate and build works of art and design to demonstrate growth and proficiency in traditional and new art media.

3.2. Develop proficiency in visual communication skills that extends learning to new contexts.

Project Requirements

• Create 2 stamps that symbolize or represent something about yourself 

• The bottom of the stamp must relate to the top of the stamp 

• Create and use forms to make stamps

• Use tools and techniques to create your stamp

• Document (take photos and reflect in writing) your project progress

• Use your stamps to mark your pieces for the rest of the semester (your unique signature!)

Academic Vocab: 

Score and slip, forms, needle tool, loop tool

Materials: 

Newspaper, needle tool, rib, slip, clay, canvas, water

Tools and Techniques: 

Score and slip, smoothing, wedging, slab construction, carving
