Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.

Accomplishments from Previous Week

● Materials have been ordered and preliminary testing has begun (Garrett and Miles)

● Heat-set neoprene versus stock neoprene (Jordan)

● Procured sewing machine and practiced designing a Neoprene sock (Ho)

● Going forward with 3D printed scales for testing, if successful will buy plastic to make them out of (Miles)

Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.

● Determine combinations of materials to test (Miles and Garrett)

● Bring up design ideas about water sock (Ho and Jordan)

○ Prevent water from seeping in

○ Adjustable sizing

○ Stretchability

● Any plans around stepping on a stingray (entire team)

● Trying the pendulum at 10 degrees and maximum 25 degrees

● Make sure test barbs are not too dull, change frequently

● Sewing is not the only way to attach materials, particularly for non-fabrics like mesh → waterproof tape or silicon

● A deterrent is still the best option so keep it in mind. Magnetic fields would be great but they decay way to fast (1/7/21, zoom)

● Range of sting area, A bootie won’t cover all but a deterrent will do better. (1/7/21, zoom)
