Connections:
Educators will explore ways to use data in an engineering experience. They will engineer an activity to allow students to determine criteria and constraints, collect data, design, and test to develop a claim that is supported by data.
Previously, you looked at tools to collect data. Now that you have an idea of how students might represent data with graphs, let’s look at how students might create visual representations with a tool.
Below are some possible tools or ways that students can use to represent data.
Graphing by hand (especially important as students learn the basics of graphing)
Technology Tools (Video 1)
Google Data Studio (tutorials available on the page)
TuvaLabs (limited database upload)
Create a Graph (step-by-step tutorial for creating a graph)
Adobe Chart Maker (limited on chart type)
Canva Graph Maker (there is a walk-through process to decide which type of graph you should create based on what you are representing)
