Students who have successfully completed Chinese 2 Honors can expand their knowledge and usage in Chinese 3 Honors. Chinese 3 Honors introduces sophisticated topics and emphasizes using of authentic materials. Culture learning and development of insight into the nature of the language and culture are integrated into the curriculum. Students are expected to reach higher levels of proficiency in the target language in terms of speaking, listening, reading and writing. Student will begin to gain understanding of basic aspects of Chinese culture and make connection between Chinese and other subjects such as geography, social studies, and the fine arts.
As an honors section, students should expect to practice and achieve proficiency standards at a quicker pace and/or complete additional projects in the target language.
Depending on enrollment for any given year, this course may be stacked (combined) with Chinese 3.
In a combined level section, students earning honors credit will have to completed additional work and higher level proficiencty tasks.
