We are a group of students from each grade, who have been elected by the entire EIS student body to take the responsibility of coordinating ideas and events for the school. Despite being a small group, we also make sure to include the rest of the school in important final decision making, for instance, if we should have a Halloween costume competition or a talent show. Everyone’s ideas are valued and heard in the student council.
Both male and female representatives, as well as the alternatives, are elected from each class in each grade in the elementary and middle school. This enables the student council to have multiple perspectives and diverse ideas. This supports our goal, that everyone's voice is heard in the council.
This year elected: Kate Mwasi 9J
To keep everything efficient and as effective as possible, leading a group of students who have their own qualities is very important. During the student council meetings, the president makes sure that students are participating and actively engaged with the topics. The president then communicates with the teachers about certain issues or ideas, to make sure that they can be put into action in the school environment.
This year elected: Parthip Ranjit 8E
In case the president is not present, the vice president takes on the major role of leading the student council meetings. They attend the meetings to be up to date and knowledgeable of what is currently happening in the student council.

Since the student council makes important decisions relating to how a certain amount of money will be spent, the role of a treasurer is very important to make sure that the money is handled correctly, and that there are no difficulties along the way.

The role of a secretary in the student council is very essential, since they make sure to analyze what is been talked about during the meetings, while writing key points and ideas about the subject. If these notes are not clear nor easy to read, the meetings would be very difficult to keep up with.
This year elected: Lilja Thompson 9G & Ocean Johnson 9G
Aside from being inside the student council, the role of a female and male Espoo representative is to represent our school in Espoo meetings, where they meet other fellow representatives from other schools. They participate in the student council meetings, in order to be knowledgeable about what is happening and what is being discussed with the team. This is how they will know what type of action our school is taking and can present them in the Espoo meetings they attend.
This year elected: Veera Makkonen 9J & Ashwin Saklani 8S
In case either one of the Espoo representatives are not present, there are alternative representatives elected. They make sure that all the tasks and information will be delivered, regardless of the official representatives being present.
