Explore what architect's work is like in today's world. You get to know how architects think when designing a house. You learn the basic concepts of architecture, study perspective drawing and observe the school building's architecture. You have a change to design your dream house and Sketch Up to make it look real. A visit to an architectural office or the Museum of Architecture is included.

Description/goals: This short elective course involves learning juggling and other circus skills. Progressing from juggling small scarfs to juggling balls, to juggling clubs and rings. Other circus skills covered will be poi, diablo, flower/devil sticks, spinning plates and hula hoop. Circus skills help unify the body in gaining physical skills regarding hand-eye coordination, balance and enhanced body control. Circus skills are also a lot of fun and can help in relaxing and also to clear the mind, even aiding in meditation. The performance aspect of circus skills would also be practiced. Students would learn not only the skills but also how to tie them together to form a performance and in the art of performing a skill for an audience.
Means of assessment: Assessment will take into account overall skill attainment and progression, depending on whichever skill the student decides to focus on the most. This would include the difference in ability from the start of the course to the end and be done through formative assessment as the course continues. A final assessment would make up the bulk of the grade via a final performance(or two performance opportunities, if the student so chooses).
Using games, fun, and competitions, we will learn to touch type, which means that you will learn to type quickly without looking at the keyboard. This means that you will be more productive, taking less time to complete essays and assignments. This skill will help you very much in your studies and future career.
Goal: By the end of the course, most of you will demonstrate your greatly improved typing skills and productivity, typing 40 words or more per minute.
Means of Assessment: Effort, improvement, and touch typing speed.
Although the goal of this course is primarily focused on students creating their own music, students will also play music together. There will be some music theory included and a few technology assignments (for example: a piece of music such as a jingle, a text or picture about or with music. Experience in composing music is not required, but a willingness to learn new skills and to improve existing ones is.
Assessment targets in this course are how the student learns to express her/himself by listening and exploring the creation of her/his own musical products.
Enjoy the satisfaction of helping to make the annual EIS yearbook a reality... without taking away from your free time. Along with the teacher, you choose how you would like to contribute to the final product: write articles, take or collect photos from around the school and school events, add captions, design the cover, contribute art/drawings, create layouts7portrait pages with publication software, and more.
Goal: For students to create a comprehensive EIS yearbook for all grade levels.
Means of Assessment: (since it is a short elective - pass or fail) Participate in lessons and show effort by contributing to the completion of the yearbook.
