There are more than 300 schools participating in this programme in Finland. Starting 2020, it is also possible for international schools located in Finland to participate in the programme in English.
For over 25 years Eco-Schools has been empowering children to drive change and improve their environmental awareness through the simple Seven-Step framework to achieve the international Eco-Schools Green Flag.

We have over 30 members in our Eco-committee from grade four through seven in Espoo International School. The committee is student organized and run. In October 2020, the members voted in a fifth-grade student to be the chairperson. We have meetings both online and in person and there are 2 teachers working with the students. The committee will investigate the environmental performance of the school building by creating an environmental review, after which an action plan will be drawn out based on the review. Over the two next academic years, the entire Espoo International School will be take part in the Eco-School activities. The topics we are working on are, bio waste, litter and global citizenship! Remember! We cant do this on our own, we need your help as well!
