PRINCIPALS NEWSLETTER
Hello Everyone,
A special mini-Newsletter for our first week back on deck. If you did manage to get a holiday break, I hope it was wonderful and you got to spend some quality time with your children. It was lovely seeing our students back on deck on Monday, looking refreshed and eager to learn!
Term 2 is looking very exciting with loads happening right across the school including a Year 1/2 Walking Excursion, State Schools Spectacular, Fairhills Basketball Cup, Mother’s Day Stall, School Photos and much, much more! Please stay abreast of your Compass Feed for regular updates and alerts. Our Wattle View Hub Facebook page is also having a mini makeover and will be up and running shortly. This notice board will be another source of information for everyone to access – stay tuned!
ANZAC Day
What a moving tribute our School Captains coordinated and led on Monday afternoon for Wattle View students and staff to pay their respects to our ANZACs. This National Day of Commemoration, that marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War, was respectfully honoured with the sounding of the Rouse, observance of one minute’s silence and our National Anthem.
At one of our local dawn services, Isabelle Sansoni-Matthews represented Wattle View by presenting a wreath made by our Year 5/6 and Foundation students. Thank you, Belle, for representing our school so respectfully. Lest we forget.
2024 Enrolments are Now Open
Do you have a child starting school in 2024? Do you know of anyone with a child/ren starting school in 2024? Why not come for an individual tour with our Leadership Team!
Applications to enrol in a Victorian Government School Form and Enrolment forms can now be collected from our office, or alternatively, give us a call and we will email a form through.
Buildings and Grounds
Our new playground is almost up and running, with only a few tweaks needed, now we have it installed. Thanks everyone for your patience with this as I am sure you can appreciate how challenging it is in this climate with material shortages etc. A huge THANK YOU needs to go out to one of our fabulous parents Daniel Dexter, who gave up his time on the holidays to assist with the site preparation.

Our always popular Snack Shack had ‘stage 1’ improvements made on the holidays, including installing new shelving, moving of fridges, freezers, and improved lighting. A new microwave and ovens will also increase efficiency in there! Stage 2 will include finishing all shelving and cupboards.
