1. Choose a brand from the three options above. 

2. Look at all the information provided for your chosen brand above and also research further on Google. 

3. Work in a group to brainstorm ideas about your chosen brand: 

Include words identifying and describing the audience, colour pallet, mood, personality/image of the brand and design elements. 

4. Start a digital folio in Google Sites. Instructions here. 

5. Copy and paste the design brief template into your Google Site:

Take relevant information from the brainstorm to complete your design brief on your Google Site. Fill in the missing information.  

6. Manually plan out the pages of your brochure using paper: 

• You can paste two A4 pages together and experiment with folding. The open brochure will be a maximum of A4 560mm x 200mm. 

• Experiment with folding the paper to see how many pages your brochure will be. Remember you need to design the back and front of all pages. 

• Cut the top/bottom of the brochure to get your brochure to the right size/angle. 

7. Download the Adobe Illustrator Brochure Template here. 

8. Create the outline for your brochure:

• Create a rectangle/square to represent one page of your brochure. 

• Copy and paste the shape to create the front and back of your brochure. 

• When you are happy with the outline for the brochure, lock the layer and create a new layer. 

9. Organise and name your layers: One way to organise your design is to have separate layers for background, type, images and shapes.

10. Type your text onto the "TYPE" layer: 

Do NOT think too much about fonts until you have your background and images pasted in. Make sure you include the information listed in the design brief template. 

11. Find IMAGES that relate to the type for each page: 

For example, if you are creating a page for each flavour of ice-cream you could include images of strawberries for the strawberry page. Your images must comply with copyright laws and you MUST consider resolution and image quality. and Make sure you include all the things listed in the design brief template.

12. Now start thinking about fonts:
