In your visual diary, divide the page into two columns:
Geometric
Organic
Draw at least 3 shapes in each column.
Arrange the shapes to create balance on the page.
Label the balance type:

Introduction: Collect sketchbooks, complete drawing prompt, teacher does roll. (5 minutes)
Demonstration: Teachers will introduce Patterns as a technique for adding tone.
Independent task: Create a page of sample patterns to pull from in your design, include at LEAST 10 different patterns using lines and shpaes.

Abstract Shapes: Random shapes and colors for a creative design.
