Activity:
Our aim is to learn how to sketch fruit. To learn how to capture 3D form and the correct shape of the fruit being drawn.
Our aim is to create 4 media studies of one fruit. These media studies are not sketches but more refined media studies. Before creating these refined media studies it is a good idea to create media experiments in your sketchbook.
Extension - experiment with ripped paper or different materials
trying to pick the correct red watercolour pencil. Yes, they are both red pencils but one looks orange when it mixes with the yellow background
Collect sketchbooks, teacher does roll.
Demonstrate what the mixed media study will look like when finished and discuss as a group the steps to get there
Step 1- Lightly sketch the image
Step 2- Sepate the image into the parts- for the study above I created 4 parts....... water colour, fineliner, coloured pencil and grey lead pencil
Step 3- Start on the first media study
Step 4- Continue with the rest of the media study under teacher guidance
