Week 1 - after whole class explicit instruction, one on one re-iteration of discussion points and task - designing a front cover, how to create block and bubble lettering
Week 2 - after whole class explicit instruction, one on one support provided to Ben to explain lesson. JG to assist Ben with cutting his front cover and taping to the front of his book.
Provide written and visual step by step instructions on how to complete the worksheet- using TV whiteboard. Jomon worksheet [provided in electronic format] one on one time to allow Ben to verbally explain his answers and assist him to type these back into the document. Key words and information highlighted for Ben to assist with his comprehension. Complete first 2 examples alongside Benjamin, if confident allow time to complete the next one. Additional time allocated to Ben to complete the full task.

Week 3 - After explicit instruction on how to design a spoon and providing visual inspiration for students, one on one time with Ben to discuss his ideas and assist with finding viosuals on the web to assist him with his design. Provide and draw blank spooon shapes for him if required.
Week 4 - after whole class explicit instruction, one on one re-iteration of discussion points and task. Individual demonstration on how to roll a coil and create the bucket of the spoon. Individual demonstration on joining clay and observe Ben's technique - re-teach if required. Routine monitoring of Ipad use for games as this has proven to be a distraction.
Week 5 - After whole class explicit instruction, one on one time with Ben. Vase shape starters provided to assist in design creation.
Week 6 - One on one demonstration of coil construction and observation of Ben rolling coils. Visual reference sheets [laminated] of coil styles and options.
Week 7 - Continue with one on one with Benjamin in the construction of his Jomon-era inspired pot.
Modified assessment rubric developed to be used if required
Rubric's are presented in table format and visually.
Exemplars are provided for visual support.
Word banks and glossaries laminated and available in the classroom.
