You and your team (2-4) have been selected to train the next division of special agents. As designers and engineers it is your job to design solutions, produce code and evaluate the output of your code through a series of challenging missions. These missions are designed to improve your computational thinking skills.
For your final Mission you will create an obstacle course that will be navigated by a special agent that you will code.
The obstacle course needs to take between 30-50 code lines/blocks to successfully comply.
Design and construct a safe and ethical course that includes 4 different types of course features. Including a loop, iteration, coordinate navigation and motion.
Your team must be able to complete the course before it is given to another team to complete.
Throughout your study of Technology, you will learn about design processes and how to apply them. You will explore different types of design processes and learn how to apply them in your design Project.
The design and production process:
Involves a sequence of organised steps which provide a solution to design needs and opportunities
May take a few seconds or minutes, such as when you select what clothes to wear, or may take years as in the case with the design of a motor vehicle
May involve one person or may involve many people
May be simple or complex, depending on the task
Involves the designer questioning (or evaluating) throughout the process
