Yennora Public School is situated in Yennora in western Sydney on traditional Darug land.
Students in the Support Unit at Yennora Public School respond to activities well when it involves either a familiar object or sound.
To increase their engagement with visual art last semester, the students chose their favourite object to use as the main medium (feather, paddle pop stick, leaves, and so on) and their favourite nursery rhyme. These choices were based on students' sensory needs and objects and sounds we know assists in increasing their engagement during an activity.
Watch the video below to see the wonderful artworks by the students from Yennora Public School.
