The Crescent School is located in Goulburn in the Southern Highlands region of New South Wales on a traditional Aboriginal meeting site.
Students from The Crescent School, Murranga Murranga Unit, found interesting things in lots of places – in the recycling, the internet, wardrobes, the playground and even at the local pool.
Together, students and teachers came up with a plan to decorate the entrance of their new unit, which sits upon a Traditional Aboriginal meeting spot for 12 mobs including; Gundungurra, Wiradjuri, Ngunawal and Dharug.
They designed a sculpture that would use the wind to move things, display the found items and be renewable as they found extra interesting things. Students and staff loved finding things and thinking about what they could do with the things they had found.
Watch the video below to see the students from The Crescent School build their sculpture.
