Are you dreaming of one day being a star of the acting world?

Looking to our current stars and learning from their experiences can inspire us to put our minds to it and see their ain't nothing they can't do.

Complete the following activities.

  • Watch the following video 'Kate Winslet shares her acting secrets'.

  • Take notes on the ideas she shares throughout the video.

  • In class, either online or in person discuss what Kate's top tips were.

  • Undertake a self reflection to identify the key areas that you are working well in and also the areas you need to improve as you strive to improve your acting skills.

Slam poetry is a powerful way to communicate your message and how you feel.

Using the topic 'Let yourself ignite', write a 8 to 16 line slam poem to be performed for the class.

To do this:

  • brainstorm ideas linked to the topic 'Let yourself ignite'

  • capture the key ideas, theme or message of your slam poem

  • write the lines of verse

  • put finishing touches on the slam poem and rehearse

  • you could perform your slam to the class online in a video class or in person or film yourself and share.

  • Be sure to send to your teacher and share with us by sending it to creativeclasses@det.nsw.edu.au.
