Newspapers are an important source of information that can be used for learning tasks, assessment tasks and more.
Google has a newspaper archive, it's huge, it's legally copyright compliant, you can search, read, copy the URL (web-link) to the newspaper story for you to record in your reference list for your assessment task when needed:

The State Library of NSW (SLNSW) can provide you access to newspapers, including current newspapers - yes, you can even access Illawarra Mercury content. If you do not already have a membership, Sign-Up and choose to receive your membership card by “Email & Post” (2-3 days for email). Typically, you will choose a database, and the databse will provide access to a long list of newspapers.
Here are some links to speed you along:
Newsbank will get The Illawarra Mercury, The Australian, The Australian Financial Review, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Daily Telegraph, The Times (London), The Guardian, and the New York Post and 7000 other titles. Oh, and they have the Wollongong Advertiser, but that would only be mildly meaningful if you were at least 15 years old.
You can view the SLNSW page listing all 41 databases for newspapers.
