Are you learning about study skills? Go to:
We know there are so many good reasons why reading is great for you; it can help you socially, emotionally and academically. If you would like to read about these wonderful and motivational reasons, have a look at the Why Read page.
Learning about what other high school students are loving reading is an amazing way to discover new books. You might try new genres, find new authors to explore, and generally keep your finger on the pulse of 'must reads'.
We will begin our Adopt A Shelf program in Term 2 of 2023. If you would like to volunteer and 'Adopt A Shelf' there are a few requirements:
You are a current student at Smith's Hill High School.
You will adopt the shelf for approximately four weeks.
Once you have filled out the form below and you have been contacted by Mr Jones from the library, you will create your list of recommendations, and for each book on the list you will write a short 'blurb' explaining why you love the book, and why other students should read it (see tips below). Mr Jones will provide you with the printed forms.
The books need to be available through the SHHS library. They can be print books, ebooks or audiobooks.
You will be responsible for restocking your shelf with more recommended books as needed.
