From the start of September 2023, licence requests are no longer required!
The only thing any student or staff member now needs is the ME app installed on their device! They just logon using their department email credentials as usual. The
Minecraft Education app is available on all platforms used in our schools - Windows & iPad. Our Minecraft Education webpage has been updated and includes plenty of resources to help teachers get started with using ME with their students.

Essential Commands: https://education.minecraft.net/support/knowledge-base/commands/
Can place individual students in different game modes (and move back later):
Survival - harder, less in inventory
Creative - can't die, more inventory, fly
Adventure - can't place or destroy blocks
Can also preload the world with useful items/resources in chests to support individual students. Can also give specific students specific items (by throwing at them). Use border blocks (or lava or water) to restrict students' movements.
Importing/exporting worlds: https://education.minecraft.net/support/knowledge-base/importing-exporting-worlds/
ADDING NON-PLAYER CHARACTERS (NPCS) https://education.minecraft.net/support/knowledge-base/npcs/
Limiting access to each other's worlds: Tell the student host to turn off the "Visible on LAN" in settings. Any students who have to join can still connect to the hosts world by knowing his/her specific IP. This works fine with DET.
