These tasks are designed for students to see and learn about the natural and human features of a place. Students identify the natural and human features of Bobbin Head. Students then create scenes by identifying different features they can see and imagine, they then represent their ideas artistically.

Task 1: What are the natural and human features of an environment?
Natural features of an environment are features that are not made by people, they existed before people got there, for example a beach.
A human feature of an environment is something that has been built or created by a person, for example a city or shops.
Activity: On the attached worksheet, colour in and identify what are the natural and human features.
Task 2: What are the features you can see at Bobbin Head?

Go outside at your home or classroom
What human and natural features can you see?
Create a map of what you can see using natural resources such as sticks, leaves and rocks. Include the natural and built features of your place.
If you can’t get outside look out the window. What human and natural features can you see? Using things you can cut, glue and stick create a map with the features of your place.
Take a photo of your creation and share it with your classmates!
