This is an outdoor activity. It can be done in your backyard or when you next go for a walk outside.

  • How many things from nature can you find from our list?

Take a copy of this scavenger hunt with you or try to remember all the things you need to find.

TIP: Take a small bag or egg carton to help you collect your items.

Task 2: Colour Match Challenge

How many colours do you notice in nature in your backyard or out your window?

For this activity you will need a set of coloured pencils or textas.

Outdoor option:

Choose one of your coloured pencils or textas. Can you find that colour in the plants or animals in your backyard? Challenge yourself to find colours such as blue or purple!

Indoor option:

From your window see how many colours you can find in nature. Use your coloured pencils or textas to see how many you can find.

Questions:

  • How many different colours did you find?

  • How many different shades of green can you see? What do you notice?

PRO TIP: If you are having trouble finding a colour, look at rocks, sticks or bark. Keep looking. You will be surprised at how many colours you will find!

Task 3: Leaf Rubbing Challenge

Watch as Kate demonstrates how to do a leaf rubbing.

Ask students:

  • How many different leaves can you find?
