What does the word active mean?

The word active means moving your body. Being active can include actively playing with your family and friends, playing a sport or other exercise.

Remember, you can be active both inside your home and outside your home.

What does the word barrier mean?

The word barrier means things that can prevent you from doing something like being active.


Some barriers to being active could include:

  • space

  • equipment

  • access to an oval or pool

  • weather.

Your task:

  • Choose a new way that you can be active and create an action plan to overcome barriers to participate in it.



You will need to:

  • identify the activity you would like to participate in

  • record the barriers to participating in the activity

  • develop ways to overcome the barriers so that you can participate in the activity.
