The Windows computers at school are centrally managed, with applications and updates being pushed out on a regular basis. Sometimes this means that a message will pop up asking the user to restart to complete an update. It seems that almost invariably users will click "Postpone". This is not normally a problem but updates cannot be postponed indefinitely. Eventually the computer will force a restart that cannot be stopped. Murphy's Law dictates that this will happen at the most inopportune time during a lesson.
To get around this I suggest to my classes that at the end of EVERY lesson the computer is RESTARTED, not just logged out. This will usually take a short amount of time. If we all do this, on laptops, desktop and MLD miniPCs, everybody will benefit.
