Staff have reported difficulty with students using school-managed iPads. Working with a class, I have identified the following issues that may cause students to have probelms.
Wifi not set for DETNSW.
Students not using the NSW Government Waratah icon to log into EdgePortal.
Students attempting to use their full email to log into EdgePortal. Must login with username only.
Students from a previous lesson not logging out from the NSW Government Waratah EdgePortal.
Students from a previous lesson creating and saving a user profile in the Chrome browser.
Students attempting to use the Google application before the EdgePortal login.
Recommendations
Use Private or Incognito mode. This will prevent student details being saved on the iPad.
End of the lesson
Open NSW Government Waratah icon to log out from EdgePortal, otherwise EdgePortal remains logged in for 12 hours
Double-tap Home to close all browser tabs and swipe up to close all apps.
Watch out for
Students from previous lessons leaving tabs open. Close open tabs.
Students from previous lessons saving Photos. Delete photos AND empty Recently Deleted.
Students from previous lessons not logging out of EdgePortal. Tap Log Out AND close browser.
Students from previous lessons creating user profiles in browsers. Delete.
Students connecting to wifi other than DETNSW. Tap on Forget to remove.
Students from previous lessons setting daily alarms or countdown timers. Delete timers and alarms.
