THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS. SOME OF THESE DETAILS MAY CHANGE.
Posters and banners may be requested through the normal Print Room channel in Teams. Here are some things that you may need to consider when requesting posters or banners to be printed.
the large format printer located in the print room is a Canon TM-200
large format printing can be quite expensive, for example $xx for a full colour A1 poster
poster and banner printing is slow and imposes significant challenges on print room staff
posters must be submitted as PDF or CPFX3 files. Banners must be submitted as CPFX3 files.
CPFX3 files are the native format of the Canon web application PosterArtist
bitmap images must be carefully selected. Low quality images may become pixellated when printed in large format
Posters and banners will be printed with full bleed (ink to the edge) by default
Posters may be printed at A1 or A2 size. A3 and A4 colour printing is available on most staff printer copiers
Roll paper stock is currently 270gsm glossy. Other stock may be available in time
Posters may be created in any document application. Canva is a good option for this. A1/A2 page size and orientation (portrait or landscape) must be set when creating the document.
Banners must be produced in the https://posterartist.canon application. PosterArtist works very much like Canva and is a good option for producing posters as well as banners. Short edge must be set to the roll width of A1/A2 Roll. Long edge may be any length that is reasonable. The PosterArtist (CPFX3) file may be saved locally, or to Google Drive or OneDrive. Provide this CPFX3 file instead of PDF when requesting a banner through the Print Room channel in Teams.
