Look at the front and back cover. Write a prediction of what you think the book will be about. Your prediction should be at least five sentences long. Then go to a window in your house and write a description of what you see outside the window.
Listen to the video based on the book Mirror.
Compare what you wrote yesterday with what you have just learnt about the book “Mirror”. Were any of your predictions correct? Why is the book titled “Mirror”?
Watch the clip-on Making Connections.
Making Connections We make connections by thinking about how the text is like something in our own life, in another text (book or movie) or what is happening in our world.
Write a paragraph about each of the following:
How the text connected to your own life.
How the text connected to another text.
How the text connects to something in our world.
Think of a trip or a journey you have taken with a member of your family. It might be a short trip to the shops or to school, or it might be a longer journey you took, going on holidays or perhaps even overseas. Tell the story of your trip in pictures (storyboard) and show the picture-story to your family, explaining to them what is happening.
