Task 2

Show your child the word grouchy in the title of the book. Draw a large letter G on a sheet of paper. Allow your child to color or decorate the letter for you. Tape the paper to a box, basket, or tub. After helping your child say the "ggg" sound take the box through the house searching for things to put in the box that begin with the g sound like grouchy. Once you have gathered a few items lay them out on the floor and say their names with your child, emphasising the "ggg".

Go out into the garden and see if you can find any bugs. What plants were they on? Did you find any? You could watch this short clip on Ladybugs.

Go out into the garden or go for a walk and find some natural objects and see if you can create a bug and upload it to Seesaw.

Have a chat with your parent/carer about the different emotions that we can feel. Can you have a go at making some of these faces? How did it make your body feel? Practice recognising different emotions by playing this game.
