Students who are well but at home with the specified medical certificates OR who are in NSW Health advised self isolation/ awaiting test results can access 'At Home Learning' resources on their stage based page.
We wish to advise that Batemans Bay Public School will be non-operational for on-site learning tomorrow, Tuesday 11 August 2020. All students will undertake at home learning tomorrow.
The department has been advised by NSW Health that a student has tested positive for COVID-19. The school will be non-operational tomorrow for the on-site attendance of staff and students to allow time for the school to complete the contact tracing process and have the school cleaned. All staff and students are asked to self-isolate while contact tracing occurs. For more information, please visit: https://batemansba-p.schools.nsw.gov.au/…
Welcome to the Batemans Bay Public School Online Learning Platform. We understand that these are difficult times and our mission is to make this as smooth as possible for all of our community.
Batemans Bay Public School Online Learning Hub has been put together to assist your child with learning from home. You will find links to resources that are commonly used in the classroom or have been deliberately sourced to assist with this process.
Communication with your class teacher will be through Seesaw.
Along the top of the web page, you will find 8 key descriptors. They are:
Parents Preschool Kindergarten Years 1 and 2
Years 3 and 4 Years 5 and 6 Support units Wellbeing
Click on the applicable link and it will take you directly to that area of learning. On each page you will find a learning matrix for the week as well as videos, links and tips to support learning at home.
We are here to support you.
We understand that working from home is going to look a lot different than what it does in a school environment. We do not expect students (or parents) to replicate a 6 hour school day that would occur under normal school circumstance. All we ask is that you do your best to support your child to complete the activities set by their teacher. Most importantly, we want you to enjoy their company! Have fun together! Look for the positives in this situation which is beyond our control.
Do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher through your normal means of communication. We are all here to help :)
As we are all aware there have been 8 cases connected to the Batemans Bay Soldiers Club with ONE of these being noted by health as a local resident. Regarding a safe return to school tomorrow:
1. We reiterate the measures in place to support the safety and well-being of students, staff and essential visitors to site posted yesterday.
2. We note that the current health advice as at 19/7/20 is:
(a) NSW Health is directing patrons and staff who attended the Batemans Bay Soldiers Club on Monday 13 July, Wednesday 15 July, Thursday 16 July and Friday 17 July, to immediately be tested for COVID-19 and self-isolate for 14 days, regardless of symptoms. Everyone must stay in isolation for a full 14 days even if their test is negative. Anyone who develops COVID-19 symptoms should also be retested, even if they have had a negative result previously. Patrons and staff who attended the Soldiers Club on Tuesday 14 July are being advised to monitor for symptoms and seek testing if symptoms develop.
(b) Anyone feeling unwell – even with the mildest of symptoms such as a runny nose or scratchy throat – is urged to seek testing and self-isolate. Do not go to work or catch public transport until you are cleared of COVID-19.
3. Attendance: Students who are well and fall outside of the above criteria are welcome and expected to attend school.
4. The continuation of Term 2 attendance guidelines requests parents seek and supply to school a medical certificate should their child or a close family contact's health be placed at risk from a child's attendance.
5. A new attendance support plan has been developed that we can supply families with to support them working with their GP and in turn with the school on a flexible approach to attendance considering community risk at the time.
6. Students who are well but at home with the above mentioned medical certificates OR who are in NSW Health advised self isolation/ awaiting test results can access 'At Home Learning' through the following : Link: http://bit.ly/BBPSonlinelearninghub.
Parents can of course continue to access their children's teachers through SeeSaw for support.
We appreciate that this is an apprehensive time for many but on a personal level the school continues to be here for our families and we remain keen to support students attendance and learning in a safe and happy environment through this time.
