Letter of the day 'u'
Use a stick to practice writing the letter u in either sand or dirt.
Letter of the day 'b'
Draw a big butterfly. Fill the wings of your butterfly with pictures of other things that start with the letter b. e.g. banana, bug, block, balloon.

Word building with letters you have learnt throughout the week. Write each of these letters on a piece of paper.

Colour words
Write the words from the butterfly chart in the colour of their box. i.e. In red write is, the, and, for, a, on. Put a circle around all of the words can you read on your own
Magazine letters
Cut out the letters you need from a magazine or newspaper to make some of your sight words.
Sight word stomp
Choose some of your words to write down on the ground: use chalk outside, or pieces of paper inside. Have someone call out the words you chose. How quickly can you jump on the word that has been called?
Pour some sand or salt onto a plate. Use your finger to write some of your sight words in the sand/salt.
Story Syllables
Get your child to say these words and the clap the syllables (parts).
seahorse (2: sea – horse)
drifted (2: drif-ted)
Listen out for other 2 syllable words in the story.
Draw an underwater picture with lots of different sea creatures. Make up a story to go with your picture. Tell your story to a family member or record it for your teacher on SeeSaw.

Draw a bingo card similar to this choosing from the numbers 2-12. Roll 2 dice and add the dots together. Put a counter on the total number. Play until all of your numbers are covered.
Too Hard? Draw a bingo card with the numbers 1- 6. Roll 1 dice and count the dots. Put a counter on the number you rolled. Play until all of your numbers are covered.
Need a little help? Touch each dot on the dice when you count it so that you don't miss any.
Want a Challenge? Draw a bingo card choosing numbers between 4-24. Roll the 2 dice and double the number that is rolled. E.g if you rolled 2 and 6 you would double both numbers to have 4 and 12. Put a counter on the number 16. Play until all of your numbers are covered.

You will need: 2 small empty boxes, 2 toys and something as a barrier.
Take turns to put the toy in different positions and tell the other person where your toy is e.g. under the box. The other person follows your instructions to put their toy into the same position.

Describe a minibeast without actually saying its name, and have someone in your family guess its name.
Run To Game
You need four different objects (cereal box, doll, ball, jumper). Put them in a square, get your child to stand in middle. Tell your child to run to different objects.

Set Up Shop
Look through the recycling bin and collect empty packages to make a ‘shop’ at home. Make some play money and ask someone in your house to buy things.
