Leadership Team Program-Wide Supports for Pyramid Model Implementation Manual (PDF)

This manual provides the leadership team with resources, forms, and ideas to guide the program-wide implementation of the Pyramid Model.


Each section of the manual provides information about the critical components of program-wide implementation and is used by the leadership team as a guide to developing their first Leadership Team Implementation Plan and return to the manual as they update the plan. At the end of each section, a case study on the Sunshine Park Zoo School is provided. This case study provides an illustration of how one program began their implementation journey. Teams are encouraged to review the case study for ideas about how an early care and education program approached their implementation activities.


Early Childhood Program-Wide PBS Benchmarks of Quality (PDF)

The Early Childhood Program-Wide PBS Benchmarks of Quality provides the leadership team with a tool to examine the critical elements needed for program-wide implementation and the indicators or benchmarks needed to achieve those elements. The leadership team will be initially guided to

use the tool by an external coach that introduces each area of implementation and encourages the team to examine current implementation status, score the tool, and then develop an action plan for

implementation (described in future sections as the Leadership Team Implementation Plan).

Early Childhood Program-Wide PBS Benchmarks of Quality Cultural Responsiveness Companion (PDF)

The EC-BOQ Cultural Responsiveness Companion is a resource for coaches and teams implementing the Pyramid Model to improve the fit of their Pyramid systems with the needs of children and their families. The tool is aligned with the Early Childhood Benchmarks of Quality (EC-BOQ) so teams can adapt the core Pyramid elements to make them more culturally responsive.

This Policy Brief underscores the importance of facilitative administrative practices that provide sustained commitment, timely training, competent coaching, the use of process and outcome data for decision-making, and the development of policies and procedures that are aligned with high fidelity implementation.

Understanding Program-Wide Implementation of the Pyramid Model (PDF)

Describes the systemic effort within a program for Pyramid Model implementation fidelity. In program-wide implementation, a leadership team guides the implementation process and develops the supports and

infrastructure needed to ensure that implementation of the Pyramid Model can occur within the classrooms and services provided to children and their families. The Leadership Team, with representation from program administrators and practitioners, is focused on the ongoing process of supporting the implementation of the Pyramid Model and using data-based decision-making to guide implementation efforts and monitor outcomes.
