In May, we invited all Main Contacts to complete a Parent Questionnaire to evaluate key aspects of their school experience. This questionnaire was based on those used by HMIE for formal school inspections, and we intend to revisit it annually to look at data overtime.
These questionnaires highlighted the following good practice:
Most respondents reported that their child likes attending the school
Most reported that their child is treated fairly and with respect
Most feel their child is safe at school
Most feel comfortable approaching the school with questions, suggestions or a problem
The responses have also helped us to consider the following areas of focus:
Further exemplifying when and how parents can get appropriate feedback on their child's progress in learning, whilst remaining mindful of the child's voice in this
Placing greater emphasis on existing resources which help to support learning at home, and how to use these effectively
Providing increased communication around Family Learning activities and the benefits these bring
The summer term is also key for transition and, in addition to the universal and bespoke activities for young people, all families were invited to join them for an online session to learn more about key staff and their roles within school. The slides for the session are here: Meet the Team May 2025
In June, we welcomed hundreds of families to join us for our three Achievement Ceremonies. As well as celebrating award winners, we also shared some the faculty highlights from across the year, which are linked below.

The BGE Graduation is for all S3 pupils, to mark this important transition. This universal offer ensures that all young people have the chance to share successes with families in this formal setting.
