Learning is not just for our young people!
All staff at Rosehill are involved in ongoing professional learning. Professional learning activities are hugely varied but include:
Professional reading and discussion
‘In House’ offers to make use of existing expertise
Leadership Projects focusing on continuous improvement in key areas
Coaching and mentoring for student teachers and NQTs
Collaboration across the local and neighbouring authorities
Courses with national organisations such as Education Scotland, SQA, and School Leaders Scotland
Masters level study with university providers
Teachers at all levels have a contractual obligation to take part in at least 35 hours of additional professional learning each session, beyond their usual school week. Each teacher's line manager supports them in doing this through the professional review and development process. All school support staff are also required to update their core learning on a regular basis, ensuring that everyone in the school community has the expertise required to succeed in a busy and often challenging environment.
We are working together to continue to develop a ‘go to’ bank of resources on our own professional learning site. In session 25-26, we will also be moving forward with practitioner enquiry.
