The school day at Rosehill begins at 8.30am. Young people are able to access the atrium, via the front entrance, from 8.20am, and make their way to Homeroom from 8.27am.
The day consists of Homeroom first, and is then divided into 7 periods (4 on a Friday). Some lessons are ‘doubles’.
There is a morning break of 15 minutes and lunch break of 40 minutes. Pupil must ensure that they are ready to access class in good time after each break.
We recommend that all young people remain on our near campus across both rest breaks. In particular, we know from experience that many of our S1 pupils struggle to manage social dynamics out in the community, where there are not necessarily adults to help when things go wrong. Our campus food court is very popular and young people are also welcome to bring food and drinks with them. We have extensive social spaces both indoors and outdoors. Parents should clearly discuss their own expectations with their young people.
The school day finishes at 3.25pm. Young people expected to vacate the building by 3.30pm, unless they are attending a specific after school activity.
Lesson timings are below. You can support your child's learning by ensuring that you do not contact them/expect them to contact you during learning time. In case of emergency, our school office can be contacted to support.
