In February 2025, Rosehill was accredited as a Silver Rights Respecting School. Achieving this status less that 18 months after opening reflects the culture and ethos we have had since opening Rosehill. As you may be aware, all of our school policies and practices have been developed in alignment with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, which has now been incorporated into Scottish law.

The Silver Accreditation process involved an in-person visit to the school which included meeting with pupils and staff, as well as considering a range of documentary evidence. You can read the full report here: Rosehill Silver Accreditation Report 2025.
We are now able to begin the work towards the coveted Gold Award, which we would hope to attain at some point in session 27-28.

Rights are …
UNIVERSAL - for all children, everywhere, all of the time
INHERENT – people have rights simply by nature of being human. Rights are there at birth.
INALIENABLE – they cannot be taken away.
UNCONDITIONAL – rights do not have to be earned. They are not a reward and not dependent on a responsibility.
INDIVISIBLE – all rights are connected and equally important.
This can be better remembered as the ABCDE of rights…
A - rights are for ALL children
B - rights are there at BIRTH
C - rights CANNOT be taken away
D - rights DO NOT have to be earnt
E - all rights are EQUALLY important
