At each of the venues there will be a series of graded short line orienteering courses (fastest over a set course); a score course (visit as many controls as possible within set time); a maze.
The session will consist of a teaching progression through to allowing the young people to experience the freedom to complete either on their ow or in pairs across the area. We will be using SportIdent technology for these sessions
We will have information at these events detailing local clubs and how young people can engage more with Orienteering. Our local club is East Lothian Orienteers. We also support Active Schools in running after schools Orienteering clubs.
The expectation is that wherever practicable schools engage in some form of active travel to reach these venues (keep costs to a minimum, promote healthy activity, be exemplars for their local community)
