Our series of camping experiences for pupils draws to a close. We have had a whole variety of schools engage with this programme; Athelstaneford - camping at Gilmerton Gardens;. Law PS - camping overnight in their school playing fields; Haddington PS - camping at Lennoxlove House; Musselburgh Burgh PS - camping at Saltoun Old Quarry (after a 12km walk though Saltoun Big Wood: Knox Academy at Lennoxlove; Loretto P5 practicing camping within their own school grounds.
Being able to camp comfortably requires a whole suite of life skills that are practiced on our camps: resilience (coping when things go wrong!); organisation; personal hygiene; tolerance; empathy; appreciation of nature (birdsong at 4am!); working well with others.
The photos below are from our preparation for Haddington PS arriving at Lennoxlove.

Some wonderful feedback from pupils that partook in one of this year's Winter Residential Adventure programme in the Northern Cairngorms. It was wonderful to see the pupils present in front of parents and school staff.
The WRAP programme is an Intervention for pupils who lack self-belief or score themselves low in areas such as Leadership, resilience, confidence, organisation etc. It's a 3 day/ 2 night residential adventure programme with a difference.
