Canberra College Cares (CCCares) is recognised internationally as a best practice model for supporting teenage pregnant and parenting students with their educational, health, social and emotional needs. Canberra College, in partnership with the ACT Department of Education & Training, ACT Health and significant government and non-government community agencies, provides an education and support program for pregnant and parenting students in the ACT and surrounding districts. CCCares offers Individual Learning Packages leading to ACT Year 12 Certification; vocational training; personal health and wellbeing support; advocacy and support services; goal-oriented learning packages, online learning and employability skills. Specific program activities provided on-site include the following:
• On-site MACH nurse visits two times weekly.
• Take-home learning packages
• Advocacy and support program
• Transport assistance for 5 days using 3 buses to all of ACT and adjoining NSW
• Cooking facilities + lunch and morning tea program
• Emergency food and clothing relief
CCCares also offers Vocational training certification as part of year 12 Certification. These are delivered by external RTO’s. These are available in:
