World Languages General Terms and Conditions
The World Languages Programme starts on the 7th of September at Nations, La Grande Boissière and La Châtaigneraie. Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability and capacity. Once a registration has been confirmed, the Terms and Conditions of the inscription form are applied.
Registration
An online registration form must be completed before any student, new or returning, may participate in World Languages classes. Registration must take place prior to the start of the course.
Enrollment is for the full school year (September to June), unless otherwise specified in the program schedule (e.g. Year 13 students). Final enrollment is subject to prior validation by the teacher to ensure that the student’s proficiency level corresponds to the selected course.
In the event that only one student is enrolled in a group course, the course will be reclassified as an individual lesson and the corresponding fee will apply. Parents will be contacted to confirm and approve this change.
TRY IT OUT possible for Languages with the teacher’s consent and will be invoiced. Teachers only accept students in the class if they have a confirmed registration.
Fees
Please see the "Fees and Registration" tab for the table of fees.
Fee Adjustments
Please be advised that tuition fees may be adjusted during the school year due to educational reorganization or changes in student enrollment (e.g., student departures or new arrivals). Parents will be notified promptly of any such changes.
Reduced Enrollment
In the event that group enrollment drops to a single student, the course will be reclassified as an individual lesson, and the corresponding rate will apply. Parents will be contacted to confirm their agreement before any billing changes take effect.
Late Enrollment
For students joining after the course start date, fees are calculated on a pro-rata basis. However, enrollments between mid-November and the end of January that affect the existing group’s fee structure may be deferred to the start of the second semester in February.
Exclusions_Certification and Examination Fees
For courses leading to an official certification, please note that enrollment in a World Languages course does not include the exam session fees. All exam-related costs, including application and registration fees, are the sole responsibility of the parents and are not included in the school’s tuition fees.
If a student decides to take a certification exam, all corresponding fees must be paid separately and according to the specific requirements and deadlines of the relevant certifying body.
Billing Preferences
Parents may specify their preferred billing options on the official registration form at the time of enrollment.
Refund Policy and Exceptions
Our fees for services/activities are calculated on a flat rate basis, meant, as a not-for-profit organisation, to cover our operational costs. As a consequence, for all services/activities beyond the tuition fees the financial commitment is for the full school year (September to June) unless otherwise indicated. No reduction nor reimbursement in fees will be granted in case of cancellation or non-use of services including if they are due to holidays, maintenance of the installations, non-respect of the contract, or in case of student absence, withdrawal or dismissal.
Exceptions
Exceptions will be made in the following cases :
A) Student relocation : A written notice of three months must be provided before the start of the next term.
B) Student illness : Absence of two or more consecutive months, supported by a valid medical certificate.
C) Force Majeure : No fee reductions in fees will be granted in case of force majeure.
Absence and Lesson Management
Student Absences
Lessons missed by students enrolled in group classes cannot be replaced, rescheduled, or refunded.
Individual Lessons Exception
For students enrolled in individual lessons, absences due to mandatory school activities (e.g., ski program, school trip) may be rescheduled, provided a written request is submitted to the coordinator or teacher at least two weeks in advance.
Teacher Absences and PED days
In the event of a teacher’s absence, a replacement lesson will be offered. Refusal of the proposed replacement does not entitle the student to a refund. Lessons missed during PED days will be made up where possible or during the make-up week.
Activity Management
The school reserves the right to cancel an activity in case of insufficient registration, conflicts with other activities, or logistical problems. Face-to-face classes take place exclusively at the School. The school reserves the right to change schedules or venues as necessary. Please note that there are no activities during school holidays.
Online Learning
The Terms and Conditions apply in case lessons are moved online due to sanitary requirements.
Safety and Code of Conduct
Supervision
To ensure a safe school environment, primary school students must be under adult supervision at all times. This policy applies to students according to their campus:
● Campus des Nations & La Châtaigneraie: Up to Year 6.
● Campus La Grande Boissière (LGB): Up to Year 4.
In the event of late pick-up (i.e. when a parent or guardian has not arrived by the end of the activity), the student will be taken to After School Care (ASC), and the corresponding time will be billed to the parents.
Behavior
The school’s Code of Conduct, as outlined in the Parent and Student Handbook, represents the central values of the school and is based on the belief that one of the school’s main aims is to support the development of decent, respectful and caring citizens of the world.
All members of the community are expected to treat each other with respect. Students are required to follow instructions given by adults, regardless of their role. A student who does not conform to the Code of Conduct risks being asked to leave the programme permanently.
Year 13 Students
Lessons for Year 13 students conclude at the end of Term 2 (end of April). Students wishing to continue through Term 3 (end of June) are required to contact the coordinator in writing to confirm their enrollment. The fees for students accepted into programs after the initial start date are prorated.
