📖 Bio : Mariam is an experienced educator with over 15 years in the field of education. A native Urdu speaker, she is passionate about language, literature, and communication, and enjoys introducing students to the beauty of the Urdu language and its rich cultural traditions. Mariam has taught English, literature, and debate in diverse educational settings, helping students build confidence in speaking, writing, and expressing ideas. She believes that learning a language opens doors to new cultures, perspectives, and meaningful connections. Working with students across different age groups and international settings, she encourages confidence, creativity, and critical thinking in her classroom. She looks forward to sharing the richness of the Urdu language and its cultural heritage through engaging and interactive learning.
Urdu Primary, Beginner level, available Tuesday :
This course is designed for absolute beginners with no prior knowledge of Urdu. Students will begin by learning the Urdu alphabet in the Nastaliq script, including short and long vowel sounds that give the language its unique flow. They will gradually progress from recognizing individual letters to blending them into words, forming simple sentences, and eventually reading short, easy texts with growing confidence.
Urdu Secondary, Beginner and intermediate level, available Tuesday :
This foundational course is designed for non-native or urdu speakers who are beginning to develop their reading and writing skills. Using the Urdu Nastaliq script, students will explore the alphabet, focusing on letter formation and the difference between short and long vowel sounds.
Through engaging and interactive activities, students will gradually connect their spoken Urdu to written expression. They will progress from forming simple words to reading and writing short sentences and engaging texts. The course encourages confidence, creativity, and active participation through storytelling, guided writing, and collaborative tasks.
By the end of the course, students will be able to read simple texts, write basic sentences, and demonstrate a growing understanding of Urdu language structure, while also developing an appreciation of Urdu culture and expression
Urdu Secondary, Intermediate and Mother Tongue level, available (day to be arranged)
This foundational course is designed for native or heritage Urdu speakers who are beginning to develop their reading and writing skills. Using the Urdu Nastaliq script, students will explore the alphabet, focusing on letter formation and understanding short and long vowel sounds.
Through engaging activities, students will connect their spoken Urdu to written expression, progressing from simple words to short sentences and texts. The course promotes confidence, creativity, and active participation through storytelling and guided writing.
By the end, students will be able to read simple texts, write basic sentences, and demonstrate a growing understanding of Urdu language and culture
